November 7, 2018 – Dr. Tiffany Washington

Date: Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018

Time: 12:15-1:15

Location: Tate 473

The speaker for the November CFF meeting will be Dr. Tiffany Washington, assistant professor in the UGA School of Social Work. Her topic will be “Discipleship in the Academy: Who’s the Mentor and Who’s the Mentee?” She will be sharing from her experiences of growing in being a follower of Jesus, particularly drawing from her time during mission trips and as a new professor.

Abstract: In university settings, we use “mentor” and “mentee” when describing the relationship between two people in which one offers guidance and counsel and the other receives it. However, in discipleship relationships, the mentor/mentee distinction can be blurred. In this lecture, Dr. Tiffany Washington will offer lessons learned as she reflects on her missions and discipleship experiences with both students and faculty.

We will provide a light complimentary lunch if your RSVP by Tuesday, November 6, by 5 pm. You can RSVP by filling out the form below.
