The speaker for the October CFF meeting will be Dr. John Dunaway, Emeritus Professor of French at Mercer University. He taught for 42 years at Mercer where he started and lead the Christian faculty ministry on that campus for many of those 42 years. His topic will be “The Calling of a Christian Professor” (abstract below).
Abstract: Vocation is the place where our deep gladness meets the world’s deep need” (Frederick Buechner). How does our work as teacher-scholars fit into the greater purpose of living out our faith in God? How do we discern the difference between ambition and calling? This talk explores some of the wisdom from great thinkers of the past, as well as the author’s own on-going personal quest for calling.
We will provide a light complimentary lunch to everyone who sends in their RSVP by Tuesday, Oct. 1, by 5 pm. You can RSVP by filling out the form below.
