The next Christian Faculty Forum meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 10th, with Dr. Dan Silk as our speaker. Dr. Silk serves as the Associate Vice President for Public Safety for UGA. He assumed this position in 2023 after nearly three decades working in law enforcement, which culminated in his role as the Chief of the University of Georgia Police Department from 2018-2023. He also serves as an affiliated faculty in the department of Political Science. He is a triple Dawg earning his B.S. and M.A. in Religion and a PhD in Adult Education. Before coming back to UGA, Dan also served in the state department in Kabul, Afghanistan and Jerusalem.
In His sermon on the mount, Jesus said “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” (Matt. 5:9 ESV) Drawing from his professional experience and current position along with sharing thoughts from his personal faith, Dr. Silk’s talk will focus on the role that professors can play in helping create a safe campus environment.
A light lunch will be served to everyone who sends in their RSVP by 5 pm, Tuesday, January 9th, by filling out the form below.
