Date: Wednesday, October 2
Time: 12:30-1:30
Location: Tate 473
The October monthly meeting of the Christian Faculty Forum will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd, from 12:30 to 1:30 in Tate 473. The speaker will be Brad Bright, son of Cru’s founders, Dr. Bill and Vonette Bright. Brad’s topic is “God is the Issue—in Every Issue.” As we live in a culture that seemingly is more hostile to people of faith, how should followers of Jesus respond to these cultural forces. Brad believes that we don’t focus on the symptoms (the cultural issue of the day); rather he believes we need to recapture the cultural initiative by making God the issue—in every issue. He’ll share how he believes Christ followers can recapture the cultural agenda with the message of the gospel by reframing every cultural issue.
Abstract: Bill Bright said, “We can trace all our human problems to our view of God.” The problem is not that there is too much darkness; the problem is there is not enough light. What we believe to be true about God will determine how we live, relate to those around us, and how brightly our light shines. Therefore, GOD is THE issue—in every issue!
A light lunch will be served to everyone who sends in their RVP by 5 pm, Tuesday, October 1st, by filling out the form below. You can also indicate if you plan on attending but don’t need a meal provided. We hope you will make plans to join us as we begin another academic year.
