February 5, 2026 – Dan Hayes

Date: Thursday, 5, 2026

Time: 12:00-1:00 pm

Location: Tate 473

The next Christian Faculty Forum monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, February 5th, from 12 to 1 pm in Tate 473. The speaker for the meeting will be Dan Hayes. Dan is a graduate of Northwestern where he majored in Biology/Pre-Med. While in college, he discovered the reality of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and joined the staff of Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ) upon graduation. He served with Cru for over 27 years and spoke in 1000 fraternities and sororities and 1000 residence halls. Also, during that time, he authored the book “Fireseeds of Spiritual Awakening” to help students lay the foundations for possible spiritual awakening on campus. In 1996, he left Cru and founded Orchard, an organization that has launched or housed more than 300 different ministry initiatives, touching hundreds of thousands of lives. Dan’s talk is entitled “Genuine Spiritual Awakenings” (abstract below).

Abstract: We hear rumblings of spiritual awakenings happening on campuses today. We are exposed to stories or see internet shorts of students turning to Christ. What should we think of these? Dan’s talk will describe the two basic types of spiritual awakenings, describe the main conditions from which corporate spiritual awakenings generally spring, and share his thoughts on how we understand the present day US campus Christian gatherings and movements as related to corporate spiritual awakenings?

A light lunch will be provided to everyone who sends in their RSVP by 5 pm, Wednesday, February 4th, by filling out the form below. If you plan to attend but don’t need a lunch provided, please RSVP and indicate that as well.

Note: While we’ll have lunch and conversation around the tables as usual, Dan will join us via zoom from his home in Colorado. We’ll have the chance to ask him questions after his presentation.
