Date: Wednesday, December 1, 2021
Time: 12:45-1:45
Location: Tate 473
Note about Covid protocols: We will follow UGA recommendations related to masks while indoors. While we will not require masks, we do encourage masks while inside Tate and begin to gather in the meeting room. Obviously as we eat and sit around tables, we don’t expect those who choose to attend the meeting to wear a mask. Our lunches we serve will be all pre-packaged items.
The speaker for the last CFF meeting of the semester will be Jamie Scott, director of the Sparrow’s Nest, a local Christian ministry serving those in need. Their website says this about the ministry – “We Exist to Save Lives. This is the heartbeat of our ministry. Our goal is to restore people back to their God given purpose and identity in Christ. We believe that Christ is King, we should keep open arms, live wise, grow well, eat last, and always be fishing.” Jamie’s talk is entitled “Bringing Jesus to the Least of These” (abstract below).
Abstract: In Matthew 25, Jesus teaches about his return and the judgment that follows. In his encouragement to the righteous, he commends them for feeding, clothing, and looking after him. When they ask when they did this, he responds “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” This talk seeks to help understand our local homeless community, ways that local Christians are ministering to those that are often considered “the least of these” and suggestions for how Christ followers can impact them.
A light lunch will be served to everyone who sends in their RVP by 5 pm, Tuesday, November 30 by filling out the form below.
