The next Christian Faculty Forum meeting will be held on Thursday, February 8th, with Dr. Juliet Sekandi as our speaker. Dr. Sekandi is an associate professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and the associate director of the Global Health Institute, both in the UGA College of Public Health. She holds degrees in Medicine and Surgery from Mbarara University of Science and Technology in Uganda, Masters of Science from Case Western Reserve University, and Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from UGA. Dr. Sekandi moved from Uganda to the U.S with her husband and five children in 2010 to embark on a new journey in the college of public health at UGA. Prior to this move, she was a practicing physician in Kampala, Uganda.
Her topic will be “A practical approach to living out Christ’s calling in the mission field of public health.” Drawing on the calling to be ambassadors for Christ she will share some of the practical ways that she has used to incorporate faith into her daily work as an academic, physician and public health researcher for the glory of God.
A light lunch will be served to everyone who sends in their RSVP by 5 pm, Wednesday, February 7th, by filling out the form below.
