He began his career as a pastor in Canada, before moving to Athens in 1991 to pursue his doctorate in Leadership Development at UGA. He is the founder and president of The Learning Edge, Inc., a consulting firm that focuses on helping managers develop critical leadership skills.  And he is also the pastor of Windborne Church here in Athens.  He is married to Carol and they have 2 adult children. His topic is “What Difference Does the Teaching of Jesus Make?” A brief abstract is below.

Abstract: What was the essential core of the teaching of Jesus?  Most Christians have a sense of the basics of the Christian message.  However, if asked to explain the meaning of Christianity in a few sentences, the average American Christian would focus on the death and resurrection of Jesus and largely leave out the life and teachings of Jesus.  What was the essence of the message that Jesus taught and what impact should that have on our understanding of the death and resurrection of Jesus?  This presentation will explore the essential message of Jesus as recorded in the Four Gospels and its implications for the life of a Christian in the Academy.

We will provide a light complimentary lunch if your RSVP by Tuesday, Nov. 28, by 5 pm. You can RSVP by filling out the form below.
