Date: Wednesday, November 11, 2020
Time: 12:30-1:30
Location: Zoom ONLY – In light of the restrictions that are placed on the number of people who can be a room safely, the challenges of providing prepackaged meals, and concern and care for one another in the Covid-19 environment we are living in, we’ve decided to hold our monthly meetings via zoom until conditions dictate otherwise.
The speaker for the November meeting will be Dr. Phil Bishop, emeritus professor of exercise physiology at the University of Alabama. Phil earned his bachelor’s degree in oceanography from the U.S. Naval Academy; his master’s in physical education and higher education from James Madison University; and his doctorate in exercise physiology from the University of Georgia. In 2006, he was appointed to the inaugural Coach Paul W. Bryant Endowed Professorship in the UA College of Education. During his time as a professor and continuing into retirement, Phil has been active in Faculty Commons at UA and has spoken for the ministry across the US and in many countries sharing about how he has sought to bring glory to God as a Christ follower who happens to be a professor.
This meeting will be a little different than those in the past. With everything going on with the coronavirus, the election, and social unrest, we thought we would take the opportunity to pray together as a Christian faculty and acknowledge our dependence on our great God. We will hear briefly from Phil as he shares about prayer and then spend time in prayer together. We welcome you to join us for any of the prayer time you are able.
We will provide the Zoom link to everyone who sends in a RSVP by Tuesday, Nov. 10, by 10 pm. You can RSVP by filling out the form below.
