April 21, 2023 – Visiting Professor

Date: Friday, April 21

Time: 12:30-1:30

Location: Tate 137 – First floor of Tate along the back hallway

The last meeting of the Christian Faculty Forum for the 2022-23 academic year will be held on Friday, April 21, from 12:30 to 1:30 in Tate 137 (Note: this is a different room from where we normally meet). This day of the week and time of the month is different than our normal meetings in order to accommodate our speaker’s schedule, as he will be in the US visiting. The title of his talk will be “Loving God with All Your Mind: A Scientist’s Journey to Faith”.

The speaker is a Messianic Jew (that is, a Jew who believes in both the Old and New Testament) who is a Professor at one of Israel’s  Institutes of higher education and runs an active research lab. His research centers around understanding the complexity of one specific metabolic pathway and its roles in human disease. Over the past few years, he has started studying how this complexity impacts studies on the origin of life and on evolutionary pathways.

Abstract: In his talk, the speaker will discuss his journey of faith, and discuss the issue of intellectual integrity from a faith-based perspective, and how we can love the Lord our God not only with our heart, soul and strength, but also with our minds, particularly in the world of academia.

A light lunch will be served to everyone who sends in their RVP by 5 pm, Thursday, April 20, by filling out the form below.
